The Book Report

Everyone would chuckle when I tell them that it took me six years to get through a two-year community college. I had started taking night classes when DoDo was about 10 years old. After I got off work at 5:00pm I would run home, make sure that DoDo had been fed and had done his homework and then I would check with the babysitter to make sure that every thing was ok then I would be off to school. Well, one day DoDo brought home a note from his teacher who asked that I would give her a call. I called and she asked if I would come in to speak with her. I went to school to meet with DoDo’s 4 th grade teacher and she showed me a paper that DoDo had written. He was suppose to have done a book report but his report was about a paragraph long and he said in his report that he was not able to do his report because his mother was in night school and she was not able to help him with it. Well, that got away with me and I made sure that I would schedule my classes around DoDo so that he would be able to go to all of his games and his practices and I made sure that all of his homework assignments were done in a fashionable manner. So, instead of going to school full or part-time I would take only one class whenever possible. Because I didn’t want my baby to think that my schooling was more important than his. Needless to say, I graduated from a community college and, a university with a 3.0 GPA. He graduated college with three degrees and was working towards his Masters.
